Carl Hansen & Son FH429 Signature Chair by Frits Henningsen
The FH429 Signature Chair was designed by Frits Henningsen, a cabinetmaker who held his profession to very high standards. Henningsen always manufactured his own designs and often began by creating a small model – in this case, using modeling clay and toothpicks. The frame was then made in his Copenhagen workshop, undergoing months of testing and adjustments before Henningsen was content. After the lounge chair was completed in 1954, fewer than 20 pieces were produced. Carl Hansen & Søn reintroduced the design in 2015. The simplicity of Henningsen’s work increased over the years. The Signature Chair becoming his purest, most pared-down design. His interest in achieving comfort and elegance through the use of graceful, curved lines is apparent in this final project. Its soft, inviting shapes and floating armrests create a simple, organic form that calls for quiet contemplation.
In excellent condition with no stains, tear, or damage. Fabric is Canvas 2 by Giulio Ridolfo. A very high quality fabric that retails over $100 per yard.

Most local deliveries within the East Bay and San Francisco can be arranged for $79–$100 and are typically completed within a few days. If shipping isn’t charged at checkout, your order won’t ship until it’s paid. We’ll send a custom quote. Shipping is handled by FedEx, UPS, or white glove carriers. Rates are set by the carriers and out of our control.
International buyers: email us at enlivenmart@gmail.com to place an order. All items are insured, but shipping is at your own risk. If a package is lost or damaged, the buyer must file the claim. No refunds for lost/damaged international shipments.

Pick-Up:
Items must be picked up within 5 days of purchase. Need more time? Email us to arrange storage (fees may apply).
For pickups, bring a blanket or padding—especially for large or fragile items. We’ll help you wrap and load, but we’re not responsible for any damage to your item or vehicle during loading.
Items left over 30 days will be considered abandoned and may be donated or placed in storage with monthly fees.
