Stunning sculptural coffee table by Berthold Müller, crafted in Germany during the 1960s. The teak frame showcases elegant organic lines and beautifully tapered legs, embodying the finest mid-century craftsmanship.The tabletop features an intricate mosaic inlay of stone and ceramic in geometric black, white, and grey tones — a striking contrast that adds both texture and visual depth.
This is one of the more refined examples from Müller’s workshop in Kressbronn am Bodensee, known for its architectural use of mosaic and exceptional wood joinery.

Designer: Berthold Müller (1913–1999) was a German sculptor and designer best known for his exceptional mosaic and stone inlay furniture produced in Kressbronn am Bodensee between the 1950s and 1970s. His workshop, Berthold Müller Mosaik, specialized in handcrafted tables, wall panels, and architectural installations that merged fine art with functional design.
Müller’s work stands out for its fusion of modernist geometry and artisanal craftsmanship — combining richly grained teak or rosewood frames with meticulously composed stone and glass mosaics. Each piece was unique, often reflecting influences from both Scandinavian and Italian mid-century design, while maintaining a distinctly German sculptural precision.
Today, his tables are highly collectible, often compared to the works of Arne Hovmand-Olsen or Illum Wikkelsø for their sculptural teak frames, and appreciated for the balance between warm natural materials and abstract artistry.
